The process for filing for child support here in Colorado requires either a petition for allocation of parental responsibility, calculation of child support, or usually child support is included in a divorce process. It’s not often that you have an initial first calculation of child support without some sort of parenting action that also goes along with it. If you were to file for an allocation of parental responsibility or a divorce here in Colorado, the court will also calculate what child support should be, and that is how most people have child support calculated and determined by a court. If you have child support questions or issues, or you need to obtain child support, we’ll be happy to help you here at Miller & Steiert, P.C.
